On the road again leaving Dinard behind we headed for Rennes straight down the highway (very boring!) to swoop past the Railway Station just long enough to pick up Liz who was arriving on a train from Paris. Like clockwork we all managed to be in the right place at the right time and rendezvous we did!
First port of call was to find our Airbnb lodgings and yet agin it was up 3 flights of stairs: this time they were very old wood and misshapen which makes access interesting! The actual apartment is gorgeous with a direct view of the Cathedral and across lots of old rooftops and chimney pots.

Rennes has some very distinctive architecture. It's a lovely medieval city with some very substantial stone buildings as well as the 'Tudor' wood style . Ewan was fascinated by the angles of many of the walls on the older buildings and some had been propped up so they wouldn't collapse.
We spent the day wandering around, doing some shopping and catching up, before adjourning to the restaurant next door for Moroccan food - perfect!

Ewan and Liz bought scarves so they will truly look French now.
When Liz and I returned from shopping Ewan threw the key to us from our attic window rather than trek up and down the stairs again. It is probably time we stayed at somewhere at ground level to give everyone's knees a rest!
